SMART Recovery (Friday)
Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART Recovery) is a 60-minute weekly meeting held at the Fellowship Centre every Friday at 7:00 PM. Based on psychological approaches, SMART Recovery was established in 1994 in the USA to help those seeking an evidenced-informed alternative to 12-Step addiction recovery support.
In a group context, a specially trained SMART Recovery facilitator helps people with substance dependencies or problem behaviours to: 1) build and maintain motivation to recover, 2) cope with urges and cravings, 3) manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and 4) live a balanced life.
All are welcome regardless of the nature or extent of their recovery or addiction. There is no cost to attend this meeting, although all SMART Recovery meetings welcome donations to cover meeting costs.
