For the most part, programs that end with the word Anonymous are 12 Step programs. The 12 Steps were originally published in 1939 in the book Alcoholics Anonymous. Essentially, the Steps outline a suggested program of recovery including admitting powerlessness over the substance or behaviour, believing that there is a solution to that powerlessness, self-examination to identify and correct character defects, making amends for harm done and, ultimately, carrying the message of recovery to those who still suffer, and being the best possible version of oneselve.
